Matthew Turns 27

It's been about a month now since my hubby turned the big 2-7.  We got to eat some yummy food together at the house, and then he got surprised at our church's bible study with a Lamborghini cake and great friends.  Here is a recap :).

Cheesecake is his favorite dessert, and it bakes ok at high altitude!

Mushrooms and onions in sherry sauce for the pork

This boy loves him some collard greens!

Peppered pork tenderloin.  Did you know the USDA has now said pork doesn't have to be cooked all the way?  Finally! USDA New Pork Temperature Guidelines

3 More Weeks and Counting Backwards...

Once you reach a certain number of weeks, people begin asking you how much time you have left rather than how far along you are.  And it's a good thing, because it's just too many weeks for me to count the other way, and I have a hard time keeping up.  So now I'm counting backwards.  With my blog postings, I've been going by what I thought was my due date, which is May 2.  According to that, we've got about 5 more weeks to go.  According to doctor's due date on April 23, we've just got 3.  Doc says that her due date is more accurate, and I now have nooooo problems with this guy coming early, so I'm going to prepare for that!

Here is an update to my last pregnancy posting.

Weeks 28-29 - Just truckin along!

Week 30 - Last airport travel without a kid!  I was so blessed to be able to go to TN and GA for two weeks for baby showers and visiting lots of dear friends and family.  I loved that William got to hear all the voices of my nearest and dearest family and friends.  He also told me he reeeally likes the food in Memphis and Athens ;-p.

Week 31 - It's official.  No more running.  I ran 4 miles and pretty sure I pulled a groin muscle since I couldn't walk for the rest of the day.  Also thought I was going to wet my pants the entire time.  He is much lower and heavier now, so it's time to stick to brisk walking/elliptical, and perhaps some modified tae bo.  Matthew picks me up from airport after my trip and William kicks a lot at sound of his voice.

Week 32 - Ultrasound shows William has "dropped," is growing and healthy, and estimates him at 5.5 lbs!  Thinking I need more 0-3 sized clothing than newborn (which is 8 lbs or less) at this point :).  He is kicking up a storm, especially in middle of the night!  Oh... and no more sleeping through the night.  For a few days now I have been waking up a minimum of 3 times, if not more, from discomfort, baby kicks, and potty breaks.  Sleeping arrangement has gone from needing one additional pillow between knees to another under head to now another to support the back... This belly is heavy!  And this week starts my first class on breastfeeding.

Week 33 - Buying a body pillow.  No more debate!  Lamaze class with Matthew.  It was hilarious being in a room with so many preggers and their Army husbands making some really funny comments about the whole thing...definitely helped to lighten the mood!

Week 34 -Matthew heads to Texas for a week of Combat Casualty Care Course.  Pleeeease baby don't come this week!  I spend the extra time finishing up the nursery and getting those last needed items.

Week 35 (37 according to doc) -  Last two classes this week - Cloth Diapering and Infant Health & Safety.  Scheduled the weekly doctor's appointments for the rest of the term and got my awesome "Stork Pass," which lets me park in the front at the hospital and other stores that have maternity parking.  Pretty cool, huh?
