Festivity

Tis the season to be jolly.  And a great way to get into the spirit has been in spending time together as a family along with having multiple Christmas gathering opportunities to meet new friends in Clarksville.

A couple of weekends ago, we jumpstarted the season with family outings exploring Clarksville, along with going to the downtown Christmas parade with new friends.

Below are some pics from Dunbar Cave State Park.

Vintage postcard feel to the place

Park has a pretty pond and lots of hiking trails

We left Dunbar Cave State Park and headed for my new favorite place in Clarksville - Liberty Park.  You may find William and me spending lots of time out here come spring.  There are lots of smooth, paved running trails the run alongside the Cumberland River... makes me feel right back at home running next the the Mississippi River in Memphis (sigh).

Looking forward to picnics in the park and when William is old enough to play on the new kid's castle playground.

That night we were off to the downtown Christmas parade.  I LOVE parades.  And festivals.  And anything festive really.  If there is a festive activity going on in town, basically, it's on the calendar.

Daddy held William most of the evening so I could talk with my new girl friends

First parade!  Again, who looks more excited?

After the parade, they had a countdown to light the Christmas tree.  I was a little anti-climactic.  But I appreciate their effort.
After church on Sunday, we decided to string up the outside lights and garland outside.  William was napping inside at first, but then he woke up and joined the party.

After we got the porch wrapped in garland and lights, Matthew started lighting up the bushes.  Go husband for being festive!

Almost there.  Made a wreath to go up later but don't have a pic.

Mesmerized
