4 Month Milestones: Rolling and Hand Coordination

We are getting into more of a routine over here, cooking meals and establishing healthier habits (i.e. not eating so many frozen pizzas and staying up until 2am unpacking and organizing :)).  William keeps growing, too, and we've enjoyed watching him explore rolling and using his hands to play with and inspect things rather than just swat at them.  (although he's hit himself in the head with his rattle now numerous times...we swear we don't beat him!)

We like to put him in his bouncer or on a blanket while we cook in the kitchen, and he seems to enjoy the playtime while he can see mommy and daddy at work.

We are also trying to read to him each day.  He seems to look at the books instead of the lamp now.

I look over to my left, and he is holding and spinning the elephant!

Then he starts playing with the elephant AND the lion!  (the things that excite moms....)

First "almost" roll over on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

He got that hiney over this much from being on his back.

He's a little excited about this new skill

...but then it makes him mad that his other arm gets stuck...

..so mommy unsticks it and all is well :)

Fun to play while mommy is in the kitchen!

Rare to find a pic of mama with baby, so with the help of PhotoBooth we made it possible.

Daddy reading a book to Will before bedtime

Time for bed!

My two loves

Love that dimple and grin.

Happy 4 mo Bday to my baby boy!

YAWN

Love his little hand and how it rests on our shoulder when we pick him up now

He loves to suck on his fingers, whichever one makes it in

...and he loves to move and turn over

...and I love to laugh at his funny little movements :)

"AAauuugggoooo rlllkkzzzzzz!!!"   (hmmmm ok baby!)

  2. Couldn't be prouder! What fun to see such a cute array of photos of this "big" little boy of ours! The glimpse into just a routine day in the Hillis home, with Baby at play and Mommy/Daddy in the kitchen, is so sweet; it made us feel as if we were experiencing it, which we can't wait to do again soon! Love that Matthew's reading to W (precious for him to pass on that love of books) and that you're capturing these magic moments and "firsts" with such great photos and the blog (passing on that love of art and creativity). What more could we grandparents ask than to have our children grow up to be wonderful parents to our grandchildren?! We "grands" are twice blessed in that regard: we get the chance to watch big brother's family of precious little girls develop as they are nurtured in love, and now we get to enjoy watching y'all dote on, stimulate, develop, and record the antics of this active, adorable--and HAPPY--little boy! :-D
