Labor Day with Hillises

Most smart people use Labor Day as a weekend to utilize time off of work to celebrate rest.  Having just moved into a new house, however, we needed to use the time to get mucho work accomplished!

Matthew's parents (aka Grandmama and Grandaddy) were so gracious to come stay with us over the long weekend and help us get more settled.  They helped us get many needed projects done and, of course, had plenty of cuddle time and laughs with William.

We got countertops re-installed by Lowe's just before the visit (old ones weren't cut quite right to fit sink correctly).  Then Matthew and his dad were able to put in the new kitchen sink and faucet.  We got William's room-darkening shade up (which means giant blue blanket can now stop doubling as a shade), weeded the garden area under the deck, mowed grass, raised our little homemade island to bar height on caster feet, installed a kitchen chandelier, and found sunroom furniture / patio furniture / charcoal grill and were able to carry it home with the help of their Tahoe.

We also made time for cooking dinner together and watching the Bulldogs beat Buffalo.  William has officially watched his first Bulldogs game with grandmama.  My brother would be proud.  Too bad I didn't think to put his jersey on from Aunt Janet until later.  That just means he will have to watch some more :).

William update: He has a TOOTH!  Matthew noticed it on Friday, Aug. 31, just one day after his 4 mo bday.  Our little Will is now chewing on everything in sight!

Loving time with Grandmama
Mrs. Carla was kind to give William so many of his daddy's baby clothes.  There is an old picture of Mr. Kelly and Matthew and Matthew is wearing this same outfit.

William working on his new tooth.  He loves the refrigerated teething rings, wet rags, and he really likes having it rubbed with your finger :).

  2. Lots accomplished in a short time--know Kelly and Carla were exhausted but happy to have been able to share the work and the "W" sugar pay-off!
